Calgary police are asking for public help in identifying the man responsible for a Boxing Day sex assault near a northwest LRT station.
According to police, at around 6:45 p.m. Friday, a woman left the Brentwood LRT station and, while walking towards Brentwood Rd. N.W., realized she was being followed.
The suspect, an unidentified man, grabbed the victim and dragged her to an alleyway. The woman fell to the ground and the suspect proceeded to strike her in the head.
The screaming woman fought off her attacker and fled the alleyway.
Police and EMS responded to the scene. Officers were unable to locate the culprit and the victim refused a medical assessment.
The Calgary Police Service is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or heard the woman’s screams to call CPS, 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers.
