Calgary police are looking for the public’s help in identifying a man they believe is connected with a sexual assault on a woman at the Kerby LRT station.

At about 5 p.m. on May 5, police say an 18-year-old woman was on the LRT platform when she was approached by a man she did not recognize.

The man began to talk to her, and then followed her onto the train.

He then began to touch the woman, stroking the back of her neck, putting his arm around her, as well as trying to grab her bag.

This continued until the next stop when the man pulled her off the train and began to assault her on the LRT platform, kissing her and preventing her from leaving.

The woman then called a family member who, in turn, called police.

Once the man was informed that police were on their way, he left the area.

Police say the man is described as:

  • Black
  • Between 25 to 30 years old
  • Approximately 6’
  • Slim build
  • Short, curly black hair

Police say he was wearing black pants, a black shirt, and unique black and white striped shoes. He was also carrying a charcoal backpack.

Anyone with information about the identity of the man is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
