RCMP in Okotoks are investigating an armed robbery at a local liquor store and say the suspect managed to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police were called to Star Liquor at 81 Southridge Drive in Okotoks at about 10:30 p.m. Monday for reports of a robbery.

They say a man wearing a black balaclava showed a firearm to the clerk and fled the store on foot after he grabbed the cash.

The suspect is described as:

  • 20-25 years of age
  • About 175 to 178 cm or 5'9 - 5'10
  • Slim build
  • Wearing a black shirt, black pants, black shoes with white sole
  • He was carrying a larger size black backpack with grey accents.
