A Vancouver man was arrested at the Calgary Greyhound Bus Terminal after Mounties found a half kilogram of cocaine in his backpack.
On January 4, the RCMP Calgary Drug Section was conducting an unrelated investigation at the terminal when they spotted Than Thanh Nguyen, 35, of Vancouver.
Upon speaking with him, they found the concealed drugs and advised him he was under arrest for the possession of cocaine.
However, when they attempted to do so, Nguyen tried to flee.
He was quickly restrained and taken into custody.
He has been charged with resisting arrest and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Police estimate the street value of the drugs at about $50,000.
Nguyen was released on a significant cash bail.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 4, 2013.
