As part of the Heroes of the Flood Initiative, the Alberta Government plans to honour Albertans who made a difference during June’s historic flooding and the subsequent clean up effort.
The province has created an online nomination page where Albertans can share their stories of the efforts of friends, neighbours, emergency crews, and others during the floods and in the months which followed.
Nominations of individuals or groups will be accepted until December 20, after which, a panel will select a group of exceptional heroes from all of the nominees. All nominees will receive a certificate of thanks from Premier Alison Redford.
The select group of exceptional heroes will be honoured in their community in 2014.
If you know of someone deserving of the acknowledgement, nominate them at Heroes of the Flood.
