Firefighters were called out to ventilate a business in Inglewood after someone doused patrons with pepper spray during a robbery.

Emergency crews were called to the Hose and Hound at 1030 9th Avenue S.E. at about 2:30 p.m. after three people walked in and deployed a canister of pepper spray.

Witnesses say the suspects were wearing motorcycle helmets to hide their identities and that they pushed their way past staff and customers to get at the cash drawer.

“The money is not the issue to me, I mean we got insurance. The money is part of the violation but it’s the absolute disregard for the pain and the suffering that they caused for my customers and my staff. This is traumatic,” said owner Chuck Rose.

There were about a dozen people in the pub at the time and three were treated by EMS at the scene.

The offenders grabbed the cash and fled the area in a black SUV.

Police have located the vehicle and continue to investigate.
