Innisfail RCMP have identified the remains of the man who was located in a burning F-350 truck on Friday.
An autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim as 27-year-old Oleg Alex Cusnir, a resident of Innisfail.
On Friday, RCMP officers responded to a rural area approximately 15 kilometres west of Innisfail following reports of a vehicle fire. Officers located the burning truck and discovered a body inside.
Cusnir’s death has been determined to be the result of homicide, but RCMP have not disclosed the exact cause of death.
Saturday morning, members of the RCMP Special Tactical Operations team scoured the area where Cusnir was located in the hope of locating evidence.
