The RCMP in Cochrane are looking for a man and a woman who entered a high-end jewelry store and made off with a couple items valued at nearly $20,000.

Police say that at approximately 2:20 p.m. on December 17, the couple entered Goldtown Jeweler’s on 1 St. in Cochrane.

The male then leaned over the display case three times, opening it from the back and taking a ring, valued at $16,000, with the display box, and a gold necklace valued at $1,100.

The woman aided in the theft by blocking view of the actions of the male with her body.

The male is described as:

  • heavy set
  • 6’ tall
  • wearing a white/light coloured baseball cap
  • white outer jacket
  • red shirt
  • dark coloured pants/jeans
  • white/light coloured shoes

The female is described as:

  • heavy set
  • 5’8” tall
  • dark , straight, shoulder length hair
  • wearing a dark blue winter jacket with yellow and red stripes on the shoulders
  • black/dark coloured pants
  • black/dark coloured shoes

The Cochrane RCMP is requesting the public’s help with any information regarding this incident and/or the suspects.
