Police in Brooks are investigating a serious assault that sent one woman to hospital with a broken jaw.
RCMP in the city, southeast of Calgary, say the assault happened at about 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2012.
Police say a taxi picked up two women at the Oxford Hotel and then stopped at the downtown 7-11.
They say there were three men standing outside the store and that later one man and the two woman got back into the taxi and drove down to 10 St. West.
Investigators say that an argument started and the man punched both women, breaking one woman's jaw. She also suffered a fractured skull and lost three teeth in the altercation.
The woman has since undergone surgery to fix her broken jaw.
Brooks RCMP are continuing to investigate and is asking anyone with information to contact them at 403-794-4400 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
