40-year-old Jason John Powell is facing a number of criminal offences in the death of 41-year-old Chasity Holman. Holman was struck and killed by a vehicle in the town of Penhold on November 5, 2015.

Witnesses reported seeing a car strike a pedestrian and then flee before becoming stuck on a berm. The driver was taken into custody without incident. RCMP say the accused and victim knew each other but won’t comment further.

Powell is charged with dangerous driving causing death and impaired driving, among other charges. He will appear in court in Red Deer on November 10, 2015.
