The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death of a young girl who was found in a vehicle near Sundre on Tuesday.

Police say the girl’s remains were found in a vehicle that was on a rural road near the town on Tuesday afternoon.

The Medical Examiner’s Office in Calgary will conduct an autopsy on Wednesday to determine the cause of death.

Police say an adult female has been taken into custody in connection to the case.
