The City of Calgary has agreed to a pilot project that will allow mobile vendors on city streets.

Anna Melnick says the rules for the new retail stores on wheels will be similar to what food trucks follow. “They need a business license, street permit and they have to pay all of the fees for taking up a parking space.”

Melnick says they also can’t be within 100 feet of a school, or 25 meters from an establishment that sells a similar product.”

The pilot project runs from April 27th to October.
