The Alberta Liquor and Gaming Commission has changed its definition of nude entertainment.

Until now, performers could not show their breasts while dancing in bars, only strip clubs. Performers may now do so, as well as dance with props and approach customers for tips as long as they are wearing a g-string.

The new rules now make a topless dancer the legal equivalent to a cover band or stand-up comedian.

Burlesque dancers in Alberta have long argued that the old policy lumped them in with strippers, which they said was unfair.
