The Calgary Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed that remains found in a rural area near Cochrane are human.
Police were called to the area on Saturday after the bones were discovered by children playing near their home.
The remains were in an advanced state of decomposition.
The RCMP Major Crime and the Calgary Forensic Identification sections are investigating.
