After days of searching for an 11-year-old boy who fell into the Yoho River in southeastern B.C. on Friday, Parks Canada staff have now recovered a body downstream from that area in the Kicking Horse River.

The discovery was made late Tuesday morning after extensive aerial and ground searches.

Two boys fell into the river near Takkakaw Falls on Friday while visiting Yoho National Park with their families. One was quickly rescued but the other was swept away.

The river is fast-running with lots of debris, boulders and log jams, which made the search difficult.

No name has been released.
