Calgary police have arrested and charged six people in connection with the seizure of $270,000 worth of drugs and serveral weapons in early March.

On March 4, police executed search warrants on five homes and seven vehicles in Temple, Kingsland, MacEwan, and the Beltline.

During the searches, police found drugs, cash, multiple rounds of ammunition, and a weapon. Police also found a key to a storage unit, which contained several more weapons and additional ammunition.

“Any seizure of firearms in relation to organized crime is a serious concern of ours. The reality is we’ve seen, in Calgary many times before, that drug traffickers and firearms is a recipe for extreme acts of violence that puts the whole community at risk,” said Sgt. Jason Walker of the Calgary Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit.

Police seized the following items:

  • 309.1 grams of cocaine
  • 45.7 grams of heroin
  • 578.1 grams of methamphetamine
  • 27.1 grams of MDMA (commonly called ecstasy)
  • 150.4 grams of cannabis oil
  • 320 grams of cannabis resin
  • 110 pills of OxyContin
  • 16.9 grams of marihuana
  • 2,551 pills of Fentanyl
  • Three semi-automatic rifles
  • Two handguns
  • One pump-action shotgun
  • Multiple rounds of ammunition for all six firearms
  • $16,000 in Canadian currency and $1,800 in counterfeit U.S. currency

Six people are charged in connection with the bust:

  • Hafiz Allan Mohammed, 28, of Calgary, is charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and six firearm offences
  • Tyler Steven Price, 30, of Calgary is charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime
  • Sean William Kiss, 33, of Calgary, is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime
  • Sandra Johanna Woloshyn, 33, of Calgary, is charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of ammunition
  • Steven John Hurd, 30, of Calgary, is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of proceeds of crime and one count of possession of counterfeit currency
  • Christie-Lee Harris, 29, of Calgary, is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of proceeds of crime and one count of possession of counterfeit currency.

“When you talk about the nature of drug trafficking in Calgary, there’s a variety of criminal groups and networks out there and I never cease to be amazed by the inner connectivity amongst them all. Everybody seems to know everybody else out there and there’s always one more person tied to an organization, whether it’s up the chain or down the chain,” said Walker.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and further charges may be laid.
