Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Calgary and several communities south of the city and say heavy snowfall is expected Monday night through Tuesday.
The warning now includes the City of Calgary, Okotoks, Claresholm, High River, Kananaskis, Canmore, Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, Sundre, Drumheller, Three Hills, Brooks, Strathmore, Vulcan, Medicine Hat, Bow Island, Suffield,Cypress Hills, Foremost, Lethbridge, Taber, Milk River, Cardston, Fort Macleod, Magrath, Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek, Waterton Lakes, Hanna, Coronation and Oyen.
Environment Canada says heaviest accumulations will start along the foothills early Monday evening and will spread eastward through the overnight period
Total snow accumulation in the city is expected to be between 10 and 20 centimeters.
The Brooks and Claresholm regionas are expected to be hit the hardest with the potential for up to 25 centimetres of snow by Tuesday afternoon.
