Calgarians will get their first look at plans for the southwest ring road.

The first of several open houses is being held Tuesday.

The city and province are seeking input on five options for the road, including eight lane expansions on existing thoroughfares like Glenmore Trail and 14th Street S.W.

Mayor Naheed Nenshi recently said he doesn't like any of the current options and he is developing a good relationship with the Tsuu T'ina.

In 2009, members of the Tsuu T'ina nation rejected a previous agreement that would have seen part of the ring road built on the reserve.

Open Houses will be held from 4:00 tp 8:00 p.m. at:

  • Wednesday, February 23 - Acadian Recreation Complex, 240 90 Ave. S.E.
  • Thursday, February 24 - Fish Creek Recreation Complex, 100, 333 Shawville Blvd. S.W.
  • Tuesday, March 1 - Foothills Community Centennial Centre, 4, 204 Community Way, Okotoks
  • Thursday, March 3 - Elbow Springs Golf Course Clubhouse, 240086 Lott Creek Blvd.
