But what about wandering spirits or lost souls?
A Calgary woman is training her dog, Glimmer, to detect the paranormal.
Holly Goddard is a paranormal investigator, who says she's been seeing ghosts since she was young.
Goddard thinks that Glimmer, a Shitzu/Cocker Spaniel/Golden Retriever mix, has instincts that no human can match.
She says "where humans are not always able to pick up on things, a dog can."
Goddard acknowledges there are many skeptics, but she believes her dog will be able to become a ghost hunter.
