Two people were transported to hospital following a Friday afternoon collision west of Calgary

At approximately 5:30 p.m., EMS crews responded to the intersection of Springbank Road and Range Road 33 following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car.

The two occupants of the motorcycle were injured in the crash and transported by ambulance to the Foothills Medical Centre.

According to EMS spokesperson Adam Loria, a woman in her late fifties suffered a serious leg injury and a man in his late fifties suffered a minor back injury and various soft tissue injuries. The two patients were transported to hospital in stable, non-life threatening condition.

RCMP members are investigating the crash.
