Police are investigating an early morning stabbing following the discovery of an injured man on the median of 16 Ave. N.E., east of Edmonton Trail.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a passing driver stopped their vehicle after seeing a man near the curb in the 400 block of 16 Ave. N.E.. The Good Samaritan discovered the man was badly injured with an upper body stab wound and contacted 911. With the aid of emergency dispatchers, the stabbing victim received medical assistance from the motorist until emergency crews arrived at the scene.

An EMS crew transported the man to hospital in critical, life threatening condition. The victim is believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties.

CPS members, including the K9 Unit and a HAWC helicopter, scoured the area for evidence. It is not known where the attack occurred.
