RCMP have had no luck locating two men who went missing in the East Kootenays last weekend.

Nicholas Hoefnagels, from Cochrane and Stephen Thomson, from Canal Flats, were last seen on Saturday, June 8.

The pair reportedly left their campsite at a lake in the area in a red truck to go and pick up some dirt bikes and never returned.

RCMP and search and rescue crews have been looking for the men all week and suspect their truck left the road and rolled down a steep embankment along the Findlay Creek Forest Service Road. Helicopters have also been combing the area.

Personal belongings were found by a SAR rope team on the bank near the water on Monday but the men have yet to be located.

There is also no sign of their truck and police say that the water in the creek has been too dangerous to send in a dive team.
