Several youths were taken to hospital after the vehicle they were in rolled on the QEII Highway early Tuesday morning.

RCMP officers responded to a complaint of numerous suspects knocking on a door to a home in the Sagewood neighbourhood and say the occupant believed the house was being broken into.

When police arrived, they saw two trucks leaving the area along with a silver coloured car and say checks listed the two trucks as stolen.

Police say they did not follow the vehicles and were called to a rollover in the southbound lanes of the QEII Highway shortly after.

A number of occupants were spotted running from the crash on foot and the car raced away from the scene towards the city limits.

Police followed the car to the edge of the city and then terminated the pursuit. The vehicle was later reported stolen from the Sagewood area.

Police shut down the highway between Veteran's Boulevard and Yankee Valley Boulevard for several hours to investigate.

One youth was taken from the scene of the crash to hospital in Calgary with minor injuries. Another youth was found near the scene and was also transported to hospital as a precaution.

Police say two more youths were located at a Calgary hospital and that they are still looking for three more suspects.
