Calgary police are attempting to locate a suspect posing as a door-to-door home energy salesman following an alleged armed home invasion in the city’s southeast.
According to police, at approximately 1:15 p.m., an unidentified man approached a home in the community of Sundance and informed the female resident that he was with a home energy company. The woman said she was not interested and closed the door.
Several minutes later, the suspect returned to the home stating he had a brochure he wanted to leave for the homeowner. The female resident found herself facing the barrel of a gun as the suspect declared ‘This is a robbery’.
The victim ran from the suspect and into the street where she yelled for help. The armed suspect fled the neighbourhood in a newer model silver sedan.
The armed suspect is described as:
- An Asian male
- Between 25 and 30 years old
- Between 5’10” and 6’ (178 and 183 cm) tall
- Having a slim build
