An arrest warrant has been issued for a 37-year-old woman from Sundre in connection with a fatal April crash on Highway 22 that claimed the life of two men and seriously injured one woman.

On the evening of April 5, emergency crews responded to a rollover approximately 10 kilometres north of Sundre, near the intersection of Highway 22 and Township Road 340. Two men from Sundre, 57-year-old Perry Vollmer and 65-year-old Brian Schrader, who had been in the rear of the vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The front seat passenger, a 50-year-old woman from Sundre, was ejected from the vehicle. The passenger was transported to the Foothills Hospital by ground ambulance in stable condition for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was extricated from the wreckage and airlifted to a Calgary area hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.

On Friday, September 25, RCMP released an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Jennifer Black, the driver of the vehicle, on the following charges:

  • Alcohol impaired related offences causing death/injury (six counts)
  • Dangerous driving causing death/injury (three counts)
  • Criminal negligence causing death/injury (three counts)
