Young smiling faces were pressed to the windows of the Alberta Children’s Hospital on Wednesday morning as a team of superheroes swung along the exterior of the building, battling dirt and grime.

“These superheroes have come here to help wash our windows and to really give a special day to some of our patients and families,” explained Margaret Fullerton, senior operating officer at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the window washing team consisting of Spider-Man, Thor, The Hulk and Iron Man, made their way down from the hospital’s roof, cleaning windows and bringing smiles to the kids.

“It’s just made such a special day for our patients and families who have stress in their lives when they come here,” said Fullerton. “Whether they’re in our in-patient units or are visiting our specialty clinics, for them to come out and see that their windows are being washed by our superheroes is pretty spectacular.”
