The driver of an SUV has been sent to hospital after he crashed into the side of a house in the southeast Calgary community of Auburn Bay.
Crews were called to the scene of a home in the 200 block of Auburn Bay Boulevard S.E. at about 4 a.m.
When they got there, they found a Toyota 4Runner that had apparently lost control and crashed into the side of a house.
The home was severely damaged as a result of the impact, with the vehicle embedded in the side of the attached garage.
The driver of the SUV was trapped inside his vehicle, and fire crews had to extricate him. He was sent to hospital as a result.
Police say the driver's appeared to be minor. They are investigating whether or not alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The homeowners were not hurt during the incident and the garage was empty at the time.
Crews remain on scene and have stabilized the damaged home.
