Charges are pending against two brothers in connection to a Friday night sexual assault and abduction in the northeast.
According to police, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday, a 17-year-old girl was waiting at a bus stop near the intersection of Taradale Dr. and Taracove Rd. N.E. when she was approached by two men. The suspects attacked the girl with a weapon and dragged her into an alleyway where they proceeded to sexually assault the teen.
The two men forced the teenager to an undisclosed northeast home where the teen was repeatedly assaulted.
"She was taken to a residence in a nearby community," said CPS Child Abuse Unit Staff Sergeant Melanie Oncescu. "She was walked to that location so, obviously, if there are any witnesses, they may have seen something that appeared to be out of the ordinary."
S/Sgt. Oncescu says the victim was not impaired.
The girl escaped from the residence on Saturday morning but suffered a head injury during the ordeal. An emergency call was placed at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and, following a police investigation, the suspects were identified.
On Sunday morning, police attended the northeast home with search warrants and three men were transported to CPS headquarters for questioning.
Charges are pending against two brothers. The identities of the suspects, who are both in their twenties, will not be released until charges are formally laid.
One of the suspects is known to police.
