Residents of the Tsuu T’ina Nation will continue to receive fresh water from trucks during repairs to the water system following Monday morning’s water main break.

“This morning, Tsuu T’ina will ask the City of Calgary to restore water flow through the main that leads to Tsuu T’ina to determine if the system is operational,” said Peter K. Manywounds, CEO of the Tsuu T’ina Nation in a statement released Wednesday morning. “The boil water advisory will be in effect until thorough testing of water has been completed.”

Approximately 55 homes and businesses on the Nation, which borders southwest Calgary, have been without safe drinking water since the water main break.

Residents are being advised of water system progress through door-to-door notifications. Once repairs are complete, Nation members will be asked to let their taps run in order to reload local pipes.
