Members of the Airdrie RCMP detachment are attempting to identify two suspects in connection with an early morning ATM theft from a grocery store on Mackenzie Way.

According to police, the two suspects, both believed to be male, gained accessed to the entrance of a closed Sobey’s store shortly before 5:00 a.m. Thursday. The pair secured an ATM inside the store to a pickup truck parked outside and proceeded to pull the machine from the building. Once the ATM was outside, the suspects loaded it into the back of the truck and drove off.

The theft was captured by surveillance cameras.

The suspect vehicle is described as:

  • A white, Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup truck
  • A crew cab
  • Having a vertical rack between the cab and bed
  • Having black rails along the top of the bed of the truck

Police believe the two suspects were masked at the time of the theft and that one of the culprits was wearing an Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid jersey.
