Lethbridge Regional Police are investigating after three people were found murdered at a west side home on Tuesday morning.

Police attended a townhouse in a building at 230 McGill Boulevard W. at about 2:30 a.m. after receiving a call from a concerned neighbour.

Three people, two men and a woman, were found dead inside the unit, and authorities are calling their deaths suspicious.

"We have not positively identified the victims. We are working to do that at this time," says Colin Catonio, Deputy Chief with the LRPS.

The victims have been tentatively identified as a 27-year-old male, a 24-year-old female and an 18-year-old male and police are working to contact next of kin.

Police have cordoned off a part of McGill Blvd and are asking people to avoid the area to give investigators room to work.

Investigators say they have been called to the apartment before and some neighbours say they were concerned about parties at the residence.

"They were pretty loud people. There was always something going on over there. My kids, they knew to stay away so, yea we knew that we had to stay away," said Tess Hogan who lives nearby.

"It's really close to home, to wake up, I'm heading to work this morning and I find out I can't leave my house because there's three people are found dead two houses down from me, it's pretty shocking," said Jon Nelson.

CTV News spoke to the neighbours who discovered the bodies and they say it appeared the victims had been there for some time. They also described the scene as extremely violent.

They say they had walked by the suite the day before and could see people lying on the floor and at first thought they were passed out or sleeping. As the day wore on they began to get concerned.

"I rang the door a couple times and went to the side window and saw blood smears on the ground and on the wall," said Matthew Vanderhilt, neighbour.

Police say the investigation is in its very early stages and believe the victims were targeted.

So far no suspects have been identified.
