Police are looking for two suspects in a Friday morning smash-and-grab at a southeast jewelry store.
Officers responded to an alarm call at 3:10 a.m. at Golden Jewellers, located at 5320 8 Ave. S.E.
According to police, a truck smashed into the front entrance of the jewelry store. Two men exited the vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of merchandise from the store. The suspects fled the scene in a second vehicle.
City crews have assessed the building and have declared it structurally unsound. Investigators have not been permitted to enter the premises and determine what the thieves had taken.
Four businesses in the strip mall will remain closed until repairs are completed. The investigation continues as detectives interview witnesses and canvass neighbouring businesses.
