Police have laid a second-degree murder charge against a 29-year-old woman in connection to the death of a little boy in the fall of 2014.
RCMP say the two-year-old boy was admitted to hospital in Calgary on September 18, 2014 with injuries he received while in the care of the woman.
The boy died from his injuries a week later and an investigation was launched by RCMP and the Tsuu T’ina police.
Police received the results of the autopsy in April 2015 and arrested Livia Starlight on July 31.
Starlight is in custody and appeared in court via CCTV in Calgary on Tuesday.
