Investigators have arrested two men in connection with the death of a 22-year-old man in the northeast.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., police were called to a location outside of a home in the 4600 block of Maryvale Drive N.E.  On arrival, an injured man was located on the sidewalk. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Wednesday's autopsy identified the deceased as 22-year-old Emmanuel Keror.

No one else was injured and investigators with the Homicide Unit, which is heading the case, say that the shooting was not a random attack.

Inspector Don Coleman says the fatal shooting is believed to be related to the 2012 murder of Philip Anny. In 215, Deng Keror was convicted of second degree murder in connection with Anny's death.

On Wednesday morning, police arrested two men in connection with the incident but the suspects have not been named as they have not been formally charged.

"A maroon pickup truck matching the description of the vehicle that fled the scene was found by officers in the Bowness area," said inspector Don Coleman of the Calgary Police Service major crimes unit. "It is believed the suspects left the truck and got into a second vehicle."

According to police, the suspects were arrested at separate locations including an undisclosed location in Bowness and an address on Applegrove Crescent Southeast.

Marlborough residents were unnerved by the violence in their neighbourhood.

Sabah Matti told CTV that he lives nearby the crime scene and often sees a number of guys in the area of the home, but contends that it is a safe neighbourhood.

"It is safe but sometimes, I don't know. That's the first time I've heard of that," Matti said.

Matti says he'd been walking through the area just a half an hour before the shots rang out. "I then heard three bullet shots. I didn't know if it was gun, shotgun."

Tuesday's shooting is Calgary's third confirmed homicide of 2016
