Two people have been sent to hospital with serious injuries after a two vehicle crash in southwest Calgary.

At just after midnight, emergency crews were called to the intersection of 17 Avenue and 26 Street S.W.

When they got there, they found a power pole had been knocked down as a result of the crash.

One of the vehicles has also caught fire but crews were able to knock it down quickly.

Crews also cut a man and woman out of one of the vehicles. The driver of the second vehicle wasn’t injured in the crash.

Police is investigating the possibility that alcohol was involved in the crash. They are also looking for a third vehicle, a silver Mercedes, which could have been at the scene as well.

Investigation is ongoing.
