Calgary Police are investigating a home invasion robbery in Monterey Park that sent two people to hospital.

Police were called to a home in the 3600 block of Catalina Blvd. N.E. after three unknown men forced their way in and demanded money from the man and woman inside.

The robbery happened sometime between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on Thursday.

The men also threatened the victims and then proceeded to trash the house before making off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The victims were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman was treated for minor injuries and released but the man remains in hospital.

The three men are described as Caucasian, with medium to slim builds.

Police say they do not believe this was a random attack.
