City crews will have another job on their hands as a water main along 14 Street in northwest Calgary has burst again.

Police say that at about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, water began gushing out of the pavement by 24 Avenue, pouring down into Confederation Park.

The city says that the whole road has been shut down and debris is covering the sidewalk on the west side ot 14 Street.

A sizable sinkhole is also in the middle of the street.

Detours are posted in the area, but the city asks drivers to avoid the area if at all possible.

Terry Langard, a resident in the area, say it's deja vu all over again. "I just came up here and I saw the massive sinkhole. I just thought, here we go."

Langard says he still has water at his home, but is worried that that might change soon.

He's also tired of the breaks. "I think there's more to come. It looked like an earthquake; the road's cracked too. I know it's an aging water line system."

About two weeks ago, city crews had to repair the broken water main between Northmount Drive and 24 Avenue N.W.

A sinkhole that had developed as a result of the break also had to be repaired.

The city says no homes or businesses have been affected by the break.

There is no timeline on when the break will be repaired.
