Two people are facing a number of drug and weapon related charges after police executed search warrants on two Calgary area homes earlier this month.

On November10th, ALERT’s organized crime and gang team searched two homes in Dover and Mission and seized the following items:

  • Two shotguns and ammunition
  • 39 grams of cocaine
  • 13 grams of methamphetamine
  • 13 grams of marijuana
  • 15 grams of hashish
  • 70 Codeine pills
  • 110 unknown pills
  • 17 Lorazepam pills
  • 5 grams of an unknown powder
  • $3,647 cash proceeds of crime
  • Nine Replica firearms
  • Various weapons, including collapsible baton, swords, nunchuks, and knives

Two suspects were arrested by Calgary police and were allegedly involved in street-level drug trafficking.

Dana Sutherland, 33, is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Four counts of possession of a controlled substance
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm while unauthorized
  • Two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
  • Ten counts of breach of recognizance

Alok Uppal, 40 is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Three counts of breach of probation

Police say the investigation was launched after they received a tip from the public.
