Airline passengers are encouraged to check the status of their flight before making their way to the airport as wintry weather is having an impact on travel.

As of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, three departing flights have been cancelled and eleven flights scheduled to arrive at YYC were cancelled (10 domestic flights and one flight arriving from Palm Springs).

On Friday evening, a WestJet flight scheduled to depart for Vancouver, and carrying a number of Grey Cup bound football fans, did not takeoff after the Calgary International Airport ran out of a deicing agent. WestJet has arranged for a rescue flight to transport the passengers to the west coast on Saturday afternoon, well before Sunday’s scheduled 3:00 p.m. PT kickoff.
