The trial for a man who is accused of torture, confinement and assault continued in a Calgary courtroom with testimony from a young man who claims he was also abused.

Abraham Chutta, 21, was back on the stand on Thursday and was cross-examined about the abuse he claims to have suffered at the hands of Dustin Paxton.

On Wednesday, Chutta claimed he was whipped by Paxton with a dog leash.

Chutta lived with Paxton along with the other victim who cannot be named due to the nature of his assault.

The Crown claims Dustin Paxton burned, beat, and dumped his former roommate and business partner's near lifeless body at a Regina hospital in 2010.

The defence is looking at inconsistencies in Chutta's story. They are examining a set of photos that shows Chutta with the other victim in the summer of 2009, looking healthy and uninjured.

The photos were allegedly taken around the same time as Chutta says they were being beaten and terrorized by Paxton.

On Thursday, Chutta claimed that Paxton used a bamboo stick as a weapon, a fact that was not mentioned in his interviews with police or in previous testimony.

The defence jumped on that detail, as they believe that many of the witnesses in this case have learned about various details second hand, either on the internet or through media.
