Calgary police are searching for the driver of a vehicle who took off on foot after a woman was hit in the northeast community of Saddle Ridge.

Stuart Brideaux with EMS says it happened just before noon when the woman, believed to be in her 30’s, was getting out of her car in the 200 block of Saddletowne Circle. “The circumstances are still being investigated as to how this may have occurred, but a female driver had exited her vehicle and was subsequently struck, pinned and then run over by a second vehicle in a parking lot.”

The woman was rushed to hospital in serious, potentially life threatening condition.

Colin Foster with the Calgary Police Service says it was a blue SUV that struck the woman.

Based on CCTV footage, Sgt. Foster says officers are looking for an East Indian male, approximately 18 years of age.
