A middle-aged woman has died from her injuries after she was involved in a collision with another person at a ski resort near Golden, B.C. on Tuesday.

Officials at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort say two guests collided on the lower mountain at about 10:45 a.m.

The injured person was airlifted by STARS to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary and died on Thursday.

“Our thoughts, prayers and care go out to the family and friends,” says Matt Mosteller, spokesperson, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. “Our team is deeply saddened by the news.”

The BC Coroners Service says the patient was a middle-aged woman and that the investigation is in its early stages but that the woman’s death “appears to have resulted from an incident in the in-bounds area at Kicking Horse.”

Officials at the resort say the injured patient was wearing a helmet at the time.

The woman’s name has not been released.
