A 20-year-old woman has succumbed to the injuries she suffered after being struck by an SUV near Rocky Mountain House early Sunday morning.

According to RCMP officials, 20-year-old Trisha Wise, a resident of Ontario, was walking along Range Road 54, northeast of the town of Rocky Mountain House, following a suspected argument with 28-year-old Christopher William Ross.

An SUV struck Wise and the pedestrian died at the crash scene. RCMP officers have identified Christopher Ross as the driver of the SUV.

According to RCMP, the driver’s Blood Alcohol Level was nearly three times the minimum level of impairment.

Christopher Ross, of Clearwater County, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol Causing Death
  • Causing an Accident Resulting in Death While His Blood Alcohol was over 0.08 %
