CALGARY -- A teenage girl from Calgary who was reported missing earlier this week after visiting family on the Siksika First Nation has been located safe, RCMP said Thursday.

Makayla Young, 16, lives in Calgary and had last been seen on April 9 when she left a family member's house to return home.

RCMP issued a plea for information on Wednesday and a day later said the girl had been located and is safe.
