CALGARY -- Cochrane RCMP are investigating a three vehicle collision Monday evening that left two people dead.

The collision, involving three motorcycles, took place around 6:45 p.m. on Hwy 1A between Hwy 1X and the Morley exit, approximately 10 kilometres from Exshaw.

The third person involved in the collision was transported to hospital.

According to an RCMP spokesperson, the deceased were a 32-year-old male from Edmonton and 21-year-old male from Cochrane. The third person injured was a 34-year-old female from Lac Des Arcs.

According to the RCMP, an investigation of the incident suggested a head-on collision.
