3 rushed to hospital following stabbings in southwest Calgary
Three people were rushed to hospital on Wednesday following a stabbing.
Police say two victims were found in the area of 60th Avenue and 1A Street S.W.
A third was found at the nearby Chinook LRT.
EMS say they were called out around 7 p.m., and that three people were transported to hospital in critical condition.
On Thursday, police said the victims had been upgraded to stable condition.
Following an investigation, police believe the stabbing happened after several people became involved in a "verbal altercation" in an open area near 1A Street and 61 Avenue S.W.
"It is believed one of the men involved left the area and then returned a short time later with a knife and stabbed two men who were involved in the initial verbal argument," police said in a statement on Thursday.
"The suspect fled the scene and was subsequently chased and stabbed, a short distance away, by an unknown man who is also believed to be part of the group involved in the verbal altercation."
Police say charges are pending against one man, and they are searching for another suspect.
