Calgary police have made an arrest in a homicide that happened at a local pub back in 2010.

On Saturday, November 27, 2010, at about 3:30 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired inside the Our Place Pub and Grill at 3709 26 Ave. N.E.

When police arrived they found Dexter Stanley Stephen Bain, the pub's bartender, in life-threatening condition. He later succumbed to his injuries and died as a result of the shooting.

Police believe three offenders entered the bar through the back door and approached Bain.

Shots were fired and Bain was able to make it to the front door before collapsing. He was then taken outside by bar patrons.

The culprits fled the area and police believe robbery was the motive.

Kyle Victor Ledesma, 25, is charged with second-degree murder. He was arrested on Monday at the Calgary Remand Centre where he was being held on unrelated charges.

Police say that a check of surveillance video in the area resulted in the identification of two suspects.

Investigators released video of a third suspect to the public on Tuesday.

The third suspect is described as:

  • Aboriginal
  • Early 20s
  • 178 cm or 5'10 tall
  • Wearing a black winter jacket with light coloured lining, a checkered shirt, blue T-shirt and black toque.

A Crime Stoppers re-enactment was produced last year to encourage members of the public to come forward with information.

Dexter Bain was Calgary's 14th homicide of 2010.
