Many people from all over the city will be gathering in downtown Calgary on Monday night to ring in the New Year.

There is a family dance party planned from 7 to 10 p.m. that will include an early countdown for kids at 9 p.m.

For people wanting to stay up until midnight, there is another celebration planned at Olympic Plaza which features some Canadian artists: Johnny Reid, Serena Ryder, Victoria Duffield, and Massari.

Earlier in the afternoon, the city will be opening up the Family Leisure Centre Water Park for a pool party at a cost of $23.35 per family.

The gym will also be open for sports activities.

As a reminder, there will be no public skating at Olympic Plaza during New Year’s Eve events.

But if downtown Calgary isn’t your thing, you can check out the Zoo Year’s Eve party at the Calgary Zoo.

A low-impact, choreographed fireworks show designed to be a little more animal-friendly is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m.

The zoo’s buildings will be closed during the show.

Zoo Year’s Eve runs from 6 to 9 p.m.
