The video, photographs and stories from Haiti have prompted many Calgarians to take action and they're planning several charitable events over the next week to raise money.

The star studded events run from concerts to silent auctions and will benefit Samaritans Purse, Compassion Canada, the Red Cross and several other charities.

Local events will be held as follows:

  • "We Must Do Something" Gospel Concert to Benefit Haiti 
    Centre Street Church, 3900 2 St. N.E. 
    Wednesday, January 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    Cost: Donation only

  • "All Star Jam for Haitian Relief" 
    Rusty Cage Central, 1690 37th St. S.W. 
    Tuesday, January 19 from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
    Cost: Donation only

  • "yyc4haiti" 
    Flames Central, 8 Ave & 2 St. S.W. 
    Thursday, January 28, 5:30 pm 
    Silent Auction 

  • "Help Haiti Now" fundraising broadcast by Energy 101.5 
    Sunridge Mall
