Police are concerned over a jump in the amount of car prowlings in the Calgary and are reminding residents to make sure their vehicles are locked.

Since October, police say there have been around 25 offences targeting vehicles, garages, and homes.

The incidents are usually occurring in the middle of the night.

According to reports, offenders were able to get into homes and cars in Panorama, Citadel, Edgemont, Coventry Hills, Hidden Valley, Harvest Hills, Hawkwood, and Arbour Lake.

They gained access to homes where the doors were left unlocked or managed to steal garage door openers to gain access there.

Police say cash, purses, and electronics were stolen from the targeted homes.
